Furniture is something that many of us take for granted; however, for individuals and families who are struggling financially and cannot afford basic necessities, having access to affordable, or in some cases free, furniture can have positive life changing effect.volunteering-van-small

Over the years Community Chest working in partnership with other agencies has played an important role in helping to rebuild the lives, livelihoods and homes of hundreds of individuals and families by redistributing essential household items to local homes. We have a number of services in place to help people on a low income:

Customers in receipt of a qualifying benefit * receive a 50% discount on all items in our shop and warehouse.

Community Chest also distributes "essential furniture" to individuals and families experiencing a domestic crisis. In order to qualify for essential furniture we work closely with many local support agencies and referral partners who can verify the clients' financial situation, allowing us to channel the free furniture to those with greatest need.

Crisis situations can arise for anyone at any time. On many occasions, we have responded to an individual or community crisis such as domestic violence, relationship breakdown, floods, severe weather conditions etc. by using our resources to provide furniture in affected households. We are keen to continue adapting our services to accommodate more people in need who will benefit from our support.

Whatever the reason, we aim to provide good quality household goods that best match the needs of individuals and families experiencing a crisis.

Delivery and administration is charged at £12.90.
